A steady programme of permanent way work, the Pen-y-mount station project, general maintenance, together with the usual shunting has meant that there gas been a regular requirement for works locomotives during the first three months of the year. No.6 has dealt with the majority of duties and has performed faultlessly. No.4 and No.5 have also seen some use, particularly in the weeks leading up to the Easter holiday.
