Work on the current phase of the project is almost complete.
On the western side of the main road paved areas have been laid out by the railway station platforms, and the Queens car park has been completely rebuilt.
On the eastern side, our car park has been completely transformed to provide surfaced and marked out parking bays for 24 cars, surfaced boundary footpaths, and Victorian-style lamp standards. The contractor has also surfaced and paved the area over the bridge and alongside the cafe, to completely eliminate the gravel approach to the station buildings.
The landscaping is still to be completed. This will include two trees immediately behind the frontage, arid tidying up the banks of Y Cyt. We are investigating improved signage on the frontage, and a new display in the new paved area previously occupied by the Bagnall locomotive. All sensible suggestions will be care fully considered.
The car park now that it is finished. The view is from the bridge next to the café, looking towards the
Queens Hotel. This is an obvious improvement over the gravel car park that we have had previously.
