From the General Manager's Office

Stuart Weatherby

Journal 118 (WWW Edition)

Here we are again, yes, another new season. All the working time that appeared to stretched away into infinity last October has now slipped away. The new season is with us and some of the jobs that we were going to do are not finished and some have not even been started.

We must however be positive. Look at all the things that have been achieved during the last six months. Not only material things that show, like a new fence or a reconditioned piece of rolling stock, but the hours put in by the back room teams on planning, development, drawing up plans and specifications, chasing up planning consents and the hardest of all, raising the finance.

The direction and aims of the Company have had to change due to circumstances beyond our control. The main drive is now to consolidate what we have and to improve our site and hardware. Negotiations will continue with the FR but there must be goodwill by all parties if anything is to be achieved.

A new initiative has been created by our purchasing of the sole rights in Wales of 'IVOR THE ENGINE'. No one can now exhibit "Ivor" in Wales except the WHR. Sezela No.4 is being prepared for steaming and on completion will be presented, with the owner's permission, as 'IVOR'.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people of North Wales and the railway fraternity especially, who have given understanding and support to the Company over the last few trying years.
