Gelert, a 1953 0-4-2 Bagnall, pulls a train past Gelert's Farm Works (aerial photo) on its way to the Porthmadog terminus.

Adjacent to Gelert's buffer plate stands a four-wheel slate slab trolley with double flanged wheels, an interesting reminder of the origins of many of the narrow gauge railways in this region.

To the right, the incomplete framework for the new Railway Extension Department shed can be seen.
