Over the weekend of the 26th - 27th October 1997, the volunteers of the Welsh Highland Railway held their fourth annual gala known as Dirty Chappies IV.

Gelert and Russell prepare to draw the passenger train double-headed out of Pen-y-Mount. Beyond the train, LYd2 No. 69 Eryri stands uncoupled.
