If you're "just interested" at this stage, try the WelshHighland
Mailing List, a shared mailing list including anyone interested in the Welsh Highland Railway. You need to become a member of Yahoo!Groups
, which is free.
Whether you want to be just a supporter or go further and take an active volunteering part, the Welsh Highland Railway is a truly happening place! What's more, you have three societies to choose from!
The Welsh Highland Railway (Porthmadog) offers unique benefits to its members. Although smaller than its sister organisation based in Caernarfon, as an all-volunteer organisation, the WHR (Porthmadog) values its members highly. As a member, you can play your part in this exciting & pioneering project. Members can feel a part of the Railway because of its democratic structures and friendly atmosphere. The high proportion of active volunteers amongst the membership speaks volumes for the friendship and fun shared amongst them.
Members receive The Journal quarterly, giving accurate, up-to-date news and information on progress with the WHR and articles on the original WHR. Take a look at back-issues of The Journal (WWW Edition).
Being a member of the Welsh Highland Railway permits you, if you wish, to volunteer to work on the Railway. There are a range of operational duties to be undertaken and details of these and other work opportunities are regularly described in The Journal. Membership also provides for insurance cover whilst working on the Railway. Volunteers exchange up-to-the-minute information via the Volunteers Mailing List
. Join them!
