It had long been the aspiration of many on the Railway to enhance its heritage character by installing a telegraph line all the way to Pen-y-Mount. Much of the preparatory work had been completed long ago, but the actual installation of the poles had never been quite completed - until now. Here is the pole route seen via a strong telephoto lens that makes them look close together. All the materials used are originals of the early 20th century, or close copies. However, the wires have yet to be strung. Pete Trafford 712x534, 90KiB (large file: 2848x2136, 1.6MiB ) |

This view of the new pole route emphasises their strong lines against a typical North Wales cloudscape. Pete Trafford 712x534, 61KiB (large file: 2848x2136, 1.8MiB ) |

Another major activity on the Extension undertaken in early 2005 was the construction of a small occupation bridge for an adjacent farmer. The bridge is essentially a large pipe placed to carry a small stream. This view almost due northward shows the stream coming from the north east and running alongside Creassy's Embankment, built over 200 years ago to reclaim land from the sea. The Railway formation also runs parallel but on the other side of the embankment. Andy Goodwin 676x507, 102KiB (large file: 2048x1536, 830KiB ) |

The small bridge is seen here partly complete. The retaining walls and parapets are being built from local slate. This view is looking the other way along the stream, and shows part of Penmount Farm and the back of Cynfal Cottage. The stream passes under the garage and through the farm area before turning westward toward Tremadog. Andy Goodwin 676x507, 119KiB (large file: 2048x1536, 835KiB ) |

The small bridge is now finished. Now the farmer can access the small parcel of land to the left and the Creassy Embankment without needing to cross the Railway. For years, access has been made by using the railway formation as a roadway, which is of course no longer possible now. Andy Goodwin 640x480, 93KiB (large file: 1280x960, 209KiB ) |
