No.9 Siding Project
One of the tasks allocated for Civil's Week 2003 was to build a new siding into the former Civil Engineering Shed. This was to make new space for Carriage and Wagon repairs. There were already two sidings into the shed (Nos 5 and 6 Roads) and another was planned for use during the restoration of wagons and small coaches.

Inside the shed, the siding is assembled. Bear in mind that this is an end-on photo taken with a long lens, so the siding is actually rather longer than it looks. Much work had to precede this moving away stored construction materials. It looks like there's quite a bit more tidying still unfinished! Rick Beton | |
