Some pages of this website are available in both Welsh and English. There are two ways of viewing these pages in your preferred language.
- You can simply click on the flag of choice at the top right hand corner of the bilingual pages.
- You can also make your browser select the right language automatically for you. To do this, you need to make it have the right settings. Generally speaking, you do this by including English (en) and/or Welsh (cy) in the languages chosen by your browser.
If you speak several languages, your browser will allow you to arrange them in order of priority. Where web pages are available in multiple languages, content will appear in the language that has the highest priority that matches your preference.
Here's how to set the languages on your web browser.
Using Firefox
- In Firefox, on the Tools menu, click Options.
- On the General tab, click Languages.
- Select the language you want to add.
- Click Add.
- Close the dialogs by clicking OK twice.

Using Internet Explorer
- In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- On the General tab, click Languages.
- Click Add.
- Select the language you want to add.
- Close the dialogs by clicking OK thrice.
Detailed instructions are available in the online help.

Seeing the Right Characters
Because the World Wide Web allows a huge range of alphabets, it may also be necessary to set the character encoding expected by your browser. Your browser should do this automatically, but if you have to override it, UTF-8 is used on this web site.
