With a maximum speed, in both directions, of just 4½ mph, this is clearly a locomotive designed for industrial shunting. This was exactly its role whilst working for the Coal Board, where it hauled surface trains in coal stockyards.

The locomotive was bought at auction by its present owners. Since being brought to the Railway, this locomotive has had a long and extensive overall. Work has been undertaken on the engine, the transmission, the brakes, the electrics, and the bodywork including cab, along with many other small jobs too numerous to mention. All mechanical work is finished and the loco has had a full paint job.

This loco has not yet been given a formal name, but the informal name ' Weigh-it-in ' seems to have stuck, this given in jest after the eager nature of its owner to get scrap metal converted to useful cash!
